Questions

FAQs

Do you work with businesses in Philadelphia, or only in New Jersey?

Both. Our office is in Marlton, about 20 minutes from Center City, and we work with Philadelphia and South Jersey businesses every week. Our clients are in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York, and we also work with businesses anywhere in the United States. We can meet at your office or ours, or work by phone and video. Either way, project management, architecture and quality control are handled from our New Jersey office, and you have a single US-based point of contact who is accountable for delivery.

How much does custom software cost?

Costs are driven by scope, complexity and integrations, so we quote each project individually after the consultation. As a guide, business websites typically start in the low five figures, eCommerce stores from the mid five figures, and custom applications vary widely with the number of user roles, workflows and integrations. Well-defined projects are quoted at a fixed price with milestone payments; ongoing development and projects whose requirements will evolve are billed hourly or monthly. Every proposal breaks the cost down by phase so you can see where the budget goes, and the first consultation is free.

How long does a project take?

It depends on scope. We usually deliver a content-managed business website in two to three weeks, an eCommerce store in four to five weeks, and a custom web or mobile application in four to six weeks. We give a specific timeline in every proposal and report progress against it weekly. After discovery and design, development runs in sprints of one to two weeks, each ending with a demo on a staging environment you can test, so you see working software early and can adjust priorities as the project progresses.

Can you take over software that someone else built?

Yes. A large share of our work starts with someone else's code. We begin with a code and infrastructure review, document what we find, stabilise anything urgent and then plan improvements in priority order. You do not have to rebuild from scratch to get reliable support. We work in the stacks most business systems are built on, including .NET, PHP, Java, Python, WordPress, nopCommerce and Magento, and once we have taken over, you call people who already know your setup when something needs fixing.

Who owns the code when the project is done?

You do. On final payment, all custom code, designs and documentation produced for your project are assigned to you. Third-party libraries and platforms remain under their own licences, which we identify in the proposal. If we host the application, it runs on Azure, AWS or a managed host under your account, so you also keep ownership of the hosting accounts and data. That leaves the choice of what happens after launch with you: keep working with us, bring development in-house, or hand the code to another team.

What happens after launch?

Every project includes post-launch support, and every launch follows a pre-release checklist covering security, backups, analytics and SEO basics. After that, maintenance plans cover monitoring, updates, security patches, backups and a monthly allowance of development hours, with a guaranteed response time. We can provision and manage hosting on Azure, AWS or a managed WordPress host under your account, or deploy to infrastructure you already own. If you need ongoing development capacity, a dedicated developer can work on your system for an agreed number of hours per month.
